Introduction: Mental health problems in Generation Z are currently increasing. The level of knowledge of Generation Z plays an important role in dealing with mental health problems. So this study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and mental health self-care behavior in generation Z of the Papuan Lani tribe. Method: This study uses a descriptive design and the approach is a survey. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a total sample of 171 respondents. Measuring tools used in this study are the Knowledge Level questionnaire and The Mindful Self-Care Scale Questionnaire. This study was carried out in Malang City from October 2022-March 2023. Data processing used the IBM SPSS program. Results: a study of 171 respondents, 97 (56.7%) respondents had good mental health self-care behavior, 47 (27.5%) respondents had moderate mental health self-care behavior and 27 (15.8%) respondents had bad mental health self-care behavior. Conclusion: This study shows that generation Z has a pattern of good mental health self-care behavior, followed by moderate mental health self-care behavior and bad mental health self-care behavior.
